Job Summary & General Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Sales Operations will lead and oversee all aspects of field force operations with primary responsibilities to lead and manage sales force incentive design, territory alignments, sales force sizing and structure, field reporting and ad-hoc analytics. S/he will contribute to the development and execution of sales & marketing and field market access strategy in the US.
 
S/he will be a strategic, highly collaborative leader who will bring a significant amount of experience in building sales operations function.  S/he will provide active collaboration to assure optimal commercial success. This individual will be responsible for developing the strategy for the sales operations function and will execute in a fast-paced environment to ensure launch readiness and successful commercial uptake.  
 
Responsibilities:  
  • Analyze Sales Force data for the purpose of targeting, zip to territory alignments, and account potential and conversion analysis
  • Interacts regularly with Sales Leadership including the National Sales Director and Regional Sales Directors to report on sales performance and on-going regional and territory analyses
  • Design and administer incentive compensation plans and payouts for commercial field force
  • Develops and maintains stringent quality control processes that ensure the accuracy of all reports and information disseminated.
  • Develop call plans and targets for sales force using patient-level claims and sales data
  • Manage Sales Force Operations Programs vendors like the Motus and Vendermate
  • Design and administer contests for the commercial field force including annual sales award contest   
  • Serve as the lead person to address inquiries from the sales force and create KPI dashboards for the commercial organization
  • Maintain territory mapping and alignments
  • Analyze critical market data to develop business rules for deployment and alignment of the sales force
  • In collaboration within commercial teams, develop and lead field reporting dashboards and analytics tools to drive business decisions
  • Fully accountable for all field communications relative to call plans, incentive compensation plans, and other ad hoc requests
  • Develop and maintain external vendor/consulting relationships

  • Effectively manage and develop a significant budget

Job Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical and biotech experience required in sales operations, incentive compensation design, and analytics
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in oncology/hematology/rare diseases/specialty products strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with managing consultants
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight and direction, to be able to anticipate the needs of business leaders and other stakeholders proactively, and to balance multiple and often diverse priorities to align on a strategic and appropriate plan
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to present complex and technical ideas and concepts, both verbally and written to multiple stakeholder audiences
  • Must have proficiency with Excel, Outlook calendar, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, business intelligence tools such as SAS, and interest for learning new software
  • Position requires both domestic and international travel up to 20% of the time
