General Accountabilities

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of MorphoSys US Inc. as we continue to grow our commercial team and prepare for the integration of our recently acquired company Constellation Pharmaceuticals. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Field Access and Distribution within the Access & Policy team. To advance our company’s culture of patient-centricity and to build internal capabilities that support the vision of category leadership for MorphoSys, the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the specialty distribution / specialty pharmacy network and be involved in managing the Sr. Manager of 3PL relationship for MorphoSys products in the U.S.
Key collaboration partners include Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams as well as other members of the Access & Policy team. External relationships include 3PL, specialty distributors, specialty pharmacies, and data providers that operate in this space. This role develops productive relationships and maintains contact with key account personnel. Additionally, this role maintains relationships with other trade associations and related organizations.

Job Qualifications

  • Appropriate understanding of the specialty distribution channel for buy-and-bill products and ability to manage and ensure appropriate performance manufacturer distribution agreements for such products in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Lead the Trade and Distribution for MORPHOSYS to the support achievement of commercial objectives. This includes the oversight of 3PL, Specialty Distributor, Specialty Pharmacy Provider reporting and operations;
  • Account management, performance monitoring, business rules, and contracting activities for 3PL, Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution;
  • Develop actionable status and sub-status information to support Commercial Operations and serve as a single point of contact to create an optimal customer experience, and for addressing service gaps in a timely manner;
  • Fosters strong relationships and collaboration across all internal stakeholders including Commercial Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Quality Assurance, Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams as well as other members of the Access & Policy team.
  • Understanding of the evolving distribution models for products products in the hematology/oncology space and the evolution of the specialty distribution and specialty pharmacy.
  • Understanding of government requirements regarding trade, distribution and channel management.
  • Understands and effectively communicates appropriate company and product information to peers, stakeholders, influencers and customer decision makers.
  • Analyzes and understands market dynamics in the evolving healthcare and regulatory environment and uses approved information to anticipate and communicate the impact of changes on the market with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Applies a broad and comprehensive understanding of the inter-connectivity of business segments/channels within account(s) to identify business opportunities.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding and application of MorphoSys strategy, objectives and compliance guidelines in the development of business plans.
  • Utilizes financial and business acumen to negotiate contract terms and conditions in a mutually beneficial and compliant manner.
  • Delivers impactful and compliant presentations tailored to the audience and influence key external decision makers and influencers.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to exchange information, provide updates on account programs and initiatives, develops and executes business plans and ensures alignment with internal teams.
  • Forms compliant partnerships with field sales team members, marketing team members, medical and health economics team members, and other members of the Access & Policy team to ensure an aligned and seamless approach to achieving company objectives.
  • Participates in industry meetings, exhibits and conventions, as appropriate, to engage with customer base and strengthen relationships.
  • Continually assesses performance of the MorphoSys specialty distribution and specialty pharmacy offerings.
 
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of biotech/pharma or related experience with at least five (5) years of direct experience in management of 3PL, Specialty Distribution, and Specialty Pharmacy Provider;
  • Strong customer orientation;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful relationships and use the soft skills needed to connect well with various customers and their affiliates.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner well across multi-disciplinary teams to develop critical insights and strategies and facilitate decision making. Must be able to anticipate needs from leadership and other stakeholders. Must be able to balance multiple and often diverse priorities in order to align on a strategic and appropriate plan.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight and direction, to anticipate needs from leadership and other stakeholders, and to balance multiple and often diverse priorities in order to align on a strategic and appropriate plan.
  • Deep understanding of performance and operational indicators for Specialty Distribution, Specialty Pharmacy Provider and HUB functions;
  • Proven ability to manage a highly-functioning Specialty Distribution and Specialty Pharmacy provider operations function
  • Experience both from within these environments and as a third party to these environments preferred;
  • Experience collaborating with external stakeholders to develop Integrated Brand Plans and alignment of support function expectations and performance;
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to drive to consensus;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence others that achieve desired results;
  • Flexible, innovative, diplomatic and able to effectively deal with ambiguity;
  • Negotiates skillfully and gains the trust of others quickly;
  • Ability to travel as business needs require;
  • Successful experience in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment;
  • Must have written and verbal communication skills and be able to present complex and technical ideas and concepts both verbally and written to multiple stakeholder audiences.
  • Must have proficiency with Outlook calendar, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, and a general facility for information technology and for learning new software.
  • Normal and routine office duties required.
  • Position from time to time will require domestic travel up to 20-30% of the time.
